DATE: FRIDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER 2016
VENUE: SCHOOL DRIVEWAY
As communicated last week, Mid-Autumn Festival will be celebrated on
Friday, 16 September 2016, that would be the third day of this time-honoured tradition. Please note the change from the school calendar. The festivities, that include performances by our bian dang ban begin at 6:35p.m and you and your family are cordially invited! Parents of children who will perform will be notified about the suggested drop-off time.
The Mid Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, symbolizes family togetherness. Share the stories behind this festival with your children and celebrate with some traditional activity. Quoting from our previous 'Week'sUp'; please consider making a trip to Chinatown in the coming week to shop for a lantern (battery operated please!) to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The children are invited to bring their lanterns to school (tagged with their names), so they may hang it up and add to the decorations that we intend putting up on Friday, 16 September 2016.

Sports
Soccer, it is ... dribbling and passing to your team mates. The children will be learning more of the game next week.
We are pleased to convey that the teachers and our children were able to achieve productive work cycles through the week. Yay!
Children who joined us earlier in the term worked individually and participated in the group presentations and activities, in the Exercises of Practical Life, Sensorial and Language areas.
Introducing the sounds phonetically, to the younger children, is our focus through the
‘I Spy Games’, to move them on, with language skills.
Continuing students increased their volume of work and we have been successful in determining the 'holiday impact' which helps us to guide them to areas that need reinforcement and, move them on to new learning. Also commenced, fine tuning our pre-primary children who would be leaving in December, for Grade 1.
Note: parents are reminded to stay in communication with teachers when they have questions and even concerns about learning.
